Condominium Communications
The reality of life is that if we are lucky, we grow older. As we do, things change. Ask someone under 20 what it means to roll up the window and see how they look at you first with befuddlement and then with roll of the eyes. Miscommunication causes more problems than we can likely list in our lives and, as in so many other areas of life, communication in condominium associations is really important.
Unfortunately, as I grow older, I also understand that though I love to read a newspaper, it is nowadays not the most economical, effective way to communicate in a condominium association.
Communication across generational lines. And don't be a grumpy, crotchety old man or woman. Admit that when you were young, you thought old people were slow to adapt and know that you may be going through that pause as well.
Changes in how community members get their information requires changes in how association get their messages out. For the life of me, I cannot understand why every Assn does not have a web page. Contact your local high school and ask if they would have the kids in a computer class develop a web page for the Assn. You will likely be amazed at how happy the teacher will be to have a lesson plan that deals with reality; how much the kids will get a kick out of it; and how many more ideas about information they will have than you will have - and it's free. so, other than being old and crotchety, why wouldn't an Assn do this?
“This site is intended to promote the events and activities within the Association and to communicate with owners and residents about community issues that may impact them or in which they may be interested.” Please
